I enjoyed my ostrich day. I had few places to go yesterday. One was to pick up a meal from one of my favorite locally owned places. They resumed in house dining but I rather bring it home right now. I spent part of the morning prior outside reading with a cup of coffee; then sitting outside texting in the early afternoon after picking up my meal. I took a glass of wine outside around 5:00pm then read for awhile before I heard thunder and returned indoors. After returning indoors I composed the piece about the rain. Seems rain has become my favorite subject of late. I’ve always been fascinated with rainy days; use to enjoy a walk in the rain when it drizzled. The poem today is about the couple who meet; enjoy rainy days at an old lake cottage making plans. The narrator finds her true love not so true on a rainy day. They meet, enjoy rainy days but he breaks her heart on one. I’m going to use this as one of the rainy day pieces in my next collection of poems.
Yesterday I enjoyed being unplugged as I said. I’ve been finding people’s temper getting to them over stupid stuff on Facebook. I did not read any news but ended up deleting a post after two people arguing over a dumb statement I posted. I’m going to have to begin to watch what I share. It’s like people, people can’t we all get along? Oh well.
So until next time....it’s NATIONAL REPEAT DAY....it’s NATIONAL REPEAT DAY! Enjoy

June 3....
DAILY REFLECTIONS
What will I find in the news today?....after a
day of being an ostrich....will things be
any better than day yesterday?
It’s back to being plugged into the
world....radio will go on....will watch TV
news....read newspaper....other
stories I see online
It was nice to just forget the issues of the
world yesterday....need to do it again
sometime....perhaps next week

WHILE IT RAINED.

Raining again today....rainy days can be
upsetting at times
Rain is essential to the earth....but not to
me today....memories surfaced of rainy
days from the past
Flashbacks of what once was....bringing
waterworks to my eyes
We met on a rainy day....a sudden
downpour appeared
Dashing into the book store to get out of
the elements our worlds collided
Inseparable were we from that moment we
met
Rainy days we spent at the old cottage at
the lake
Sharing our dreams....our schemes
our secrets....our hopes for the future
Cocooned in the old quilt....sipping wine
listening to music from the radio....nothing
else mattered but you and I together
Words of love you spoke....time and again
promises made to always be together
Rain unexpectedly came....scurrying into
the coffee shop to wait out the storm
I saw you....I saw her
My world ended....as the rain fell from dark
clouds and my eyes
