JUST THOUGHTS and SUCH....June 18th

Two whimsical pieces today. The readings today short also.  

It’s getting to be too much with people offended by the most stupid stuff.  Icons on products are now the latest.  Actually if people take the time to read the history behind the icon perhaps they’d learn something.  Seems there always has to be some issues for folks to get riled up about.  Some people need to get a life.  Enough said as this triggered my thoughts when I woke up this morning. 

I did not get words for a writing prompt but idea for quick poems instead.  My husband thought it funny to write about different wine flavors; so I did.  He also thought about going out to eat and we still are undecided on that.  I’d rather a take out yet and of course the question where to go which means the cost. I decided to write a funny piece on that subject. 

Today is Thursday and margarita day at two of the clubs where I am a member.  I’ll probably forgo going out to either today.  

Until tomorrow....let’s see what the big issues are today.  Who is offended by what.

    June 18th....DAILY THOUGHT 

    What will be the big issue today....I’m 

     already tired of the Aunt Jemima 

        story....what icon is next

Will Uncle Ben be removed from rice....

   will Cream of Wheat be next....what about 

      removing the sailor from Cracker Jack 

          or change the name

Such a sad world we live in....people being 

   offended by the most stupid stuff....if they 

     knew the history behind the icons maybe 

       they’d keep quiet....many are too lazy to    

           learn the history it seems

Can go out again at a restaurant to dine

Have a few cocktails and glass of wine

To sit and have a person wait on me

I just don’t know who there I’ll see

Been awhile since I’ve been out to eat

It is going to a very wonderful treat

My only dilemma is where I should go

And just how much I’ll spend in dough

What type of wine do I have today

Sangria, Lambrusco or Chardonnay 

I think I’d enjoy a glass of Moscato 

Or plum flavored wine but not sure if I 

      oughta

Merlot, Chablis, possibly a Rose

Any wine I choose will be okay

Drinking coffee is great but when I stop

The time will then be Wine O’Clock
