April’s Fool and I woke up at 4:00am. I thought about all the April Fool’s days of years ago; tricks I pulled and tricks played on me.
Years ago I quit trying to fool people.
This year the day falls on Holy Thursday; for some reason it’s a solemn occasion.
Yesterday I had to run to the store. I found a hyacinth. It wasn’t open yet; and I was looking forward to it doing so in the next few days. Of course it won’t be good for my allergies but I don’t care. I love the scent of them. Well let me say it’s not a hyacinth but a daffodil plant. I read the store receipt after I got home and found it said daffodils. I picked it up next to where the hyacinths were located. Guess I’ll be okay then.
Well it’s April and that means it is NATIONAL POETRY MONTH.
Yes I have a challenge as always a poem a day and to read two poems a day.
One of the wacky holidays yesterday was little red wagon day. I remember doing a red wagon poem last year. My thoughts in the piece I wrote reflects on how my wagon was used. It was more than something in which to ride. I used mine for many other things. I recall seeing someone use theirs as a decoration for different seasons.
It’s not just kids who have coloring books these days; adults do also. I wrote that piece on a person using only one color to match her mood. It reflects how I’ve felt these past few days. I’m not sure what color I’ll use today. But hope it’s not blue or black again.
Terry concluded March’s vocabulary words with the word CONCLUDE. I used it as concluded. I’ll miss the word of the day. It was fun to try to use it.
Well I hope you have a great day.
I recall that April first was also my Grandfather Fisher’s birthday. A happy birthday to my grandfather in heaven.
I have find memories of him liking his Iron City beer but reading his Bible daily.
Until tomorrow...happy Thursday and as always Stay Safe.

THE WAGON
My little red wagon a wonderful toy
Endless uses did it have
A chariot for my dolls
as we went on adventures together
Taking turns pulling friends around the
neighborhood
Carrying grocery items for grandma
from the Mom and Pop grocery store
Holding bat, balls and skates on trips
to the park
The wagon filled with soda bottles
found for return to the store
Many hours of fun with my red wagon
now it sits on the porch in autumn
with a scarecrow and pumpkins

CRAYON DAYS
Today I feel blue....everything will be
too
It’s a blue crayon day
Perhaps I should wait till tomorrow
to color
My mood might be sunny and bright
like a crayon of yellow
I might feel perky instead....use shades
of pink or purple
Yesterday I felt melancholy....my day
dark and bleak
Everything colored black

BID a FOND FAREWELL
We bid farewell to March
the days sped by quickly
Thirty-one days of celebrating
Women’s History Month concluded
for another year
“Goodbye” to March
and “Hello” to April
The month that brings showers as the
saying goes
Will April bring hope to us who need it?
Only the days ahead hold the answer

WACKY HOLIDAYS March 31st
(National Little Red Wagon Day;
National Crayon Day; National Tater
Day and Starbucks Day)
My childhood consisted of crayons
and a coloring book
Pulling my dolls in my little red wagon
As an adult I’m having coffee and
reading at a Starbucks
While having thoughts of ordering
loaded tater tots at the pub for lunch
