APRIL and POETRY MONTH....Day 2

Yes 4:00am. It’s GOOD FRIDAY a very solemn day.  On this day I have a light breakfast then fast from food till supper.
No pranks did I do or receive for April Fools.  Yesterday was the first day of National Poetry Month.
I wrote my yearly tribute to the month in two different pieces. I came up the Three E’s of poetry month; Enjoy, Explore and Experience.  Now if you want to add to the three that’s fine.
First one must enjoy reading a poem or two each day during the month. To do so explore the different poem types or genres.  There are quite a few types to be found; find a poet you whose work might interest you. The third E is to experience poetry month. Attend a reading or try your hand at composing your own.  Do one of the E’s a day or two. It doesn’t matter as long as you celebrate the month.
Terry’s words for April are words related to the spring season or month. Yesterday since it was April the first the daily word was APRIL FOOLS.  Did I have fun with it. I wrote a tad serious piece that the day means nothing to me; only that it represents the first day of poetry month. The second more whimsical came as I sat at my Amvets post.  As I looked around I noticed beer being poured into a mug. The dripping of the tap made me think how some people can be a drip as well.  Now I know it relates to a boring person without strong character; know people who can relate to this. On the other hand some people think they are all that and a bag of chips; I’ve met people who feel that way. Well I decided to write about a guy who thinks he’s that way; when in fact he’s just a drip.  An incident caused the piece “THE DRIP” to pop into my head.  I could not type it quick enough. I posted it on my Facebook page. If someone gets insulted or feel it’s reflects them; well then perhaps they should take a good look at theirselves.
The eight wacky holidays were interesting to piece together.  There were eight I found interesting for yesterday.
Until tomorrow....have a blessed day; wear your red as it’s Friday and as always Stay Safe

                   APRIL FOOLS

Tricks and gags played on April Fool’s
     Day
Sometimes not so very funny
Someone’s feelings can be hurt
Speculations on how the day came
about varies on what one reads
Just another day for me
          APRIL FOOLS!
It’s day one of National Poetry Month

                    THE DRIP

I said to him “oh you’re so cute and
    cool”
He said “thanks for the compliments”
“Ha! Ha!” I said “April Fools

Very conceited indeed was the guy
Thinking every female should swoon
When he would walked on by

He thought himself to be all that
And a bag of jalapeño chips
My opinion he was just another drip
