APRIL and POETRY MONTH....Day 9

Well I’m up again early.  It’s so funny I mentioned yesterday I was through with my invisible poems, but again yesterday I was not seen. I was talking with someone; they were acknowledged with a greeting, I was totally ignored. This individual knows me too; but, no hello, drop dead or kiss my butt from this person.  I pinched myself to make sure I was alive. Arrogant is all I can say about them.  So thanks arrogant person you’ve triggered a few pieces again.
Now I can’t name names, but let’s say this is how it is.  In fact this person’s presence brought my good mood to a unhappy one yesterday. If I had known they were in the same place as me, I’d never would have gone inside.  Unfortunately I needed to see someone that was there. I took a deep breath when I heard their voice and saw them; dealt with it. Enough said!
You’ll read those pieces they inspired tomorrow.
Yesterday I wrote about National Beer Day.  I did a piece on beer history; and a whimsical piece on beer.  Both were fun to write yesterday morning.
Terry’s daily word was CHIRPING.  Funny as I’ve used this word in the past few days.
In fact the piece using the daily word worked well with the wacky holiday piece. Funny how that happens.
It’s Friday!  Wear your RED!
Until tomorrow....I hope I don’t encounter arrogant people today; as always Stay Safe.

                   BEER-ISTORY
National Beer Day came and went
  with no fanfare
Funny that no one remembers
    prohibition
Not taught in U.S. History class I guess
Bathtub beer and spirits made at home
 during those thirteen years
April seventh recognizes the most consumed alcoholic beverage world
    wide
It follows water and tea as the third
    most drink overall
A bottle of Rolling Rock beer has “33”
  on the bottle’s back
Know the meaning of the “33”
  if not I’m not telling

        THREE BEERS and STRIKES
April the seventh the National Day of
      Beer
To it I give a hearty toast and cheer
Beer with pizza a really good drink
Also good with soft pretzels I do think

In a can, bottle or a mug of draft
Drinking beer with lobster would be
  daft
Quenching my thirst on a hot summer
       day
Having one at the game is always okay

While the boys of summer on the
    diamond play
“Hot Dogs” “Cold Beer” a vendor does
    say
Having me one or two it doesn’t matter
As I yell at the ump for outing the batter
It was a foul not a strike....I need a third
 beer

               MORNING MUSIC
Tweeting and chirping birds in the
     trees
Outside my window awaken me with
     melodies of nature
My neighbor’s cat sits staring up
  at them
Is he enjoying the songs they cheep
Chirping continues throughout the
     morning
Both Tom Cat and I listening
  who needs a radio
    when there are birdsongs

  WACKY HOLIDAYS APRIL 8th
(National Zoo Lovers Day; National All
Is Ours Day; National Empanada Day
  and Draw a Bird Day)

An empanada would go well with
     my morning coffee
As I sit peering out my window
It’s like a miniature zoo outside this
    morning
My neighbor’s cat roaming in my yard
birds sitting in the trees tweeting
    geckos climbing on a bush
Such a wonderful way to begin
  the day
  appreciation of small things
  that we have in life
If only I could sketch the birds
   but no artist am I
