Today is Monday. Another week begins.
Yesterday I visited my husband. It was a nice out on the patio visit. A tad longer than the thirty minutes I’m allotted. I did not need a stiff drink afterward, but had a milk shake instead. Better than having a drink definitely.
Yesterday I saw two butterflies and it triggered the poem I did. I thought about a man giving a woman a ring in that shape. They are in the meadow; he has a box and she’s anticipating an engagement ring. She sees a butterfly as he open the box where inside is a butterfly shaped ring. It is romantic as you picture the meadow and the nature sights and sounds.
The daily word yesterday was SUNGLASSES. This time I wrote about lenses of the glasses and why the narrator wears different colored lenses.
I’m feeling a tad overwhelmed at the moment. It’s all that’s going on with me right now. In fact I’m not even feeling like I want to be productive to write or have.
It’s 3:00 and I’m awake. It’s all this stuff in my head making me wake up at odd times. I see a nap in my afternoon for sure.
Until tomorrow....enjoy your day and as always Stay Safe.

BUTTERFLY
On the old quilt under the shade
of the oak tree we sit
A perfect day in June....a cloudless
azure sky
Slight breeze blowing rustles the leaves
Birds tweeting above us
nature’s music to our ears
We sip wine making plans for
the future
Alone are we....no other human near
Us....the birds....the bugs....the
butterflies....the rabbits and squirrels
Enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature
in the meadow
The view of a pond....croaking of
frogs....chirping of crickets....
the colorful wildflowers
You reach into your pocket....take out a
blue velvet box
My heart raced with anticipation
of what could be inside
and the question you will ask
As you open the lid....I notice a butterfly
flitter by
Nestled in the blue box....a silver and
sapphire butterfly ring
How ironic indeed

MY SUNGLASSES
Sunglasses block out the sun’s rays
Many different styles I own....some
practical
some funky and cute
All have lenses of different colors
Depends on my mood....how I feel at
the moment
which pair I’ll wear
My rose color ones....make me see
things positive
The yellow optic...I see things clearly
Blue....makes a fashion statement
But when I don the dark shades....I’m
hiding from the world
so no one can see the sadness in my
eyes

WACKY HOLIDAYS APRIL 25th
(National Zucchini Bread Day; National
Hug a Plumber Day; National Pet
Parents Day and Red Hat Society Day)
Wearing my red hat I head outside
taking my dog for a stroll around the
neighborhood
Carrying a loaf of zucchini bread I
stop at my neighbor’s to thank
him for fixing my faucet
Social Distancing has me unable to
hug him today
