APRIL and POETRY MONTH....Day 17

Happy Saturday!  Going to be a long day for me. First it’s the Election Day at my Amvets.  The voting begins at 11:00am to 3:30pm.  I’m one of the poll workers.  I’m to make sure with another veteran that those voting are eligible to do so. After we will be there as votes tallied and sign off on the information. This should be exciting as there are a few running that would not make good in the position.  Enough about this.
Then I may stick around to listen to karaoke/entertainment; depends on my mood.
I had bad experience trying to go to the heart doctor office where my husband had to go the other day. First the directions given me were bad.  I politely asked on the phone what is the cross street near by. Now ready for a laugh. There is no cross street the lake is across the street. Like duh I know that but what other street is near by. Well I found it. Actually they were on the corner of US 27South and Trojan Street. Why not tell me that in the first place. Next they said pull in off the highway cone in front door.  It was turn onto the other street.  Secondly they did not tell me I had to pay a co-pay. I did not have my check book but had cash with me; I did have a debit card but decided to pull out the cash. Snooty person helping me but after I completed the paperwork the other person was nicer.
Terry’s daily word was KITE. I use to enjoy flying a kite. Would have a competition with my step-brother to see who got their kite higher. I won on occasion. I wrote the first piece about kite on this. The second short piece describes a person’s anxiety like a kite flying.
The first piece I composed yesterday (a true to life piece) is about wearing red on Friday. I seem to have a certain outfit I wear every Friday. I call it my uniform. My second piece on morning sounds comes from personal experiences on noises I hear outside most mornings.
As I sat yesterday having coffee, I listened to the noises I heard.  Combined together they were like music.
This is a short piece today. Since I’ve not written this at 3:00am I’m doing this at 7:00am. Have to get a move on to get ready for the day.
Until tomorrow....have a great day and as always Stay Safe.

              FRIDAY UNIFORM
It’s Friday....I am wearing my red
A tee shirt, socks and wrist bands
Red shoelaces in my white sneakers
A red hat upon my head
I am supporting our troops
 Remembering Everyone Deployed
Only day of the week I never have to
  think about what to wear
It’s always the same outfit
I call it my Friday uniform

         SOUNDS of MORNING
Birds trilling in the trees
Neighborhood dogs barking
The roaring of lawn mowers
Weed whackers whirling
Cars rumbling up and down the street
Combined together....music from the
  outdoors
I listen as I have my coffee
   read the newspaper
Morning sounds....letting me know
   another day has started

                CONTEST
It’s a windy day in April
One made for kite flying
To the park we go
Mine is red....I use dad’s patriotic tie
   for the tail
You blue kite will never get as high as
     mine
A constant contest always

                     WISH
High as a kite lifting skyward she felt
Her anxiety soaring....excited was she
Finally her wish would come true
She only hoped not to be disappointed
