It rained most of yesterday. Dreary rainy days get me really down. I don’t need anything else to make me sad. As I sat listening to the rain hit against the window, I began to cry after calling to make the next appointment to visit my husband. As my waterworks flowed it rained. It triggered the piece I wrote.
As I reflected it being a Monday, a daily thought popped in my head. I haven’t really written daily thoughts for awhile.
Terry had two words yesterday; LILACS and ROSES. I love the fragrance of lilacs; unfortunately my allergies do not. I wrote about them in both pieces; but roses only in one. Growing up my step-grandmother had lilacs in the house during spring. We did not have a bush but she got them from a neighbor. In the summer roses took over. My step-grandmother had beautiful rose bushes. There were always flowers in the house in summer. She’d plant tulip bulbs in fall along the side of the house; we’d have them to enjoy when spring began.
It’s Tuesday and like Monday it’s suppose to rain today again.
Until tomorrow....have a good day and as always Stay Safe.

CRY
Rainy Monday....dreary day
I feel blue....melancholy overtakes me
Raindrops from the clouds
Falling upon the ground
Like the tears falling from my eyes
Clouds and I have something
in common today
The waterworks flowing....I am without
you

DAILY THOUGHT
Another Monday....a new week begins
Five days of waiting for Friday to end
The weekend starts....two short days
Then Monday again....a never ending
cycle

LILACS
Lilacs perfume the air
Their fragrance filtering into the house
through the open window
How lovely the white and purple
blooms on my bushes appear
Do I dare cut them to bring inside?
I rather leave them as is for all who pass
by to enjoy their beauty and scent

ROSES
Roses in a crystal vase
Red, pink, yellow and white
Create a lovely table centerpiece
How sad mine aren’t in bloom yet
Lilacs placed on each side of the
mantle
An alluring fragrance throughout the
house
Such a shame lilacs will only last
through late spring
But then the roses will be flourishing
to perfume the home

WACKY HOLIDAYS APRIL 19th
(National Amaretto Day; National Garlic
Day; National Poker Day and Bicycle
Day)
Garlic knots with my antipasto
and garlic powder on my pizza
Amaretto cake for dessert
I’ll need to brush my teeth before
heading out to play bar poker
But first need to take a bike ride to
get rid of some of the calories
from lunch
