It’s 4:00am and I’m awake. It’s weird how I wake up at odd times at night.
Yesterday on Easter Sunday our word of the day was EASTER. I had already done an acrostic prior to seeing the word; but for my challenge piece composed what Easter is not. In fact in both my acrostic and challenge piece I said it all in few words.
I felt like doing an acrostic on the word EGG and PEEPS. In EGGS I described chocolate eggs being gooey and delicious; being glad Easter is once a year because of them. In PEEPS I reflected upon how you either love them or hate them.
Like a few days ago I wrote the wacky holidays as a thought in one writing.
Yesterday I got to see my husband at rehab. He seemed to be okay but misses me. I miss him too. I cried in the car after I left for about five minutes. It was hard for me. Today I call to make another visit. I was in a funk the rest of the day. Hopefully I’ll be okay today.
Seems poetry month is going well so far. Yesterday to cheer me I read some Dorothy Parker. She seemed to cheer me with a few of her poems but mainly her quotes. My favorite has always been about martinis. Seems like her two martinis are my limit.
Until tomorrow....it’s Monday and the start of a new week; as always Stay Safe.

EGG
Easter eggs....chocolate cream filled
Gooey....and oh so delicious
Grateful....Easter is once a year

PEEPS
Peeps a yellow marshmallow candy
Easter treat some enjoy; some don’t
Every year I think about buying them
Perhaps one year I will; but not this year
Stale and harden one way many enjoy

EASTER
Easter is a glorious day of rejoicing
As our Lord risen from the tomb
Seems many just see it as another
Sunday
They don’t reflect on what the day
means
Enjoying egg hunts and baskets of
treats left by Peter Cottontail
Realizing not it’s Jesus rising from the
dead that is what Easter is about

WHAT EASTER IS
Easter....more than coloring eggs
and the hunt for eggs
Easter....is not the pastel colors
or the new bonnet women wear
Nor is it about Peter Cottontail
bringing baskets with colorful straw
filled with chocolate bunnies....
cream filled eggs....marshmallow
peeps....jelly beans
Easter is not wearing of an orchid
corsage or the scent of hyacinths
It’s not the feast of ham eaten for
dinner
Easter is the day our Lord risen from
the dead
A day to rejoice and be glad

WACKY DAY APRIL 4th
(Easter Sunday; Jeep 4X4 Day; World
Rat Day; Tell a Lie Day; Hug a
Newsman Day; Plum Pudding Day;
National Chicken Cordon Bleu Day
and National Vitamin C Day)
EASTER SUNDAY
Easter Sunday I plan to ride to church
in my Jeep
Thinking of having Chicken Cordon Bleu and plum pudding as an Easter
dinner
A glass of orange juice with
champagne, mimosas tasty
Sure different from having the tradition
ham
I like changes now and then
MY THOUGHT
Funny how world rat day,
hug a newsman day and
tell a lie day all fall on the
same day
Like many I feel some news people are
big rats who lie at times
