APRIL and POETRY MONTH....Day 22

It’s three o’clock in the morning. I’m awake and typing this up.
Yesterday I read through a book of poetry prompts. One of them was to write a six word poem.  Another prompt had to do with fog lifting. So I wrote a six word poem about the fog lifting.
I then used that poem as the first line of another piece. It was sort of interesting to do.  I may try it again using a different subject in the future.
Funny I wrote about rain on Monday and Tuesday; Wednesday the daily words from Terry were RAIN and RAINBOWS.  I had an idea in my mind that came from Tuesday. As I waited for the rain to stop, I could see the sun trying to come out. I knew if I saw a rainbow it’d be hopeful for clear skies.
I did two different pieces again using wacky holidays.  I remember years ago the day was called Secretary Day.  As a secretary I recall receiving flowers; being taken to lunch and receiving a gift certificate to one of my favorite stores.
One really did not learn some things required of a secretary in school. All one learned was typing, shorthand, dictaphone, answering the phone and filing.  They did not teach about doing other things I’ve done as a secretary.  Running errands, personal correspondence at Christmas when sending out cards, making coffee or picking up the boss’s lunch. These are just a few things I’ve done.
The piece using kindergarten day is true. I never went to kindergarten. Into first grade I was put.  This was the first time I ever been around a lot of kids other than cousins.  Yes for me it was scary.  I survived but to this day disliked my first grade teacher and can never forget stuff that happened in her class.
I hated first grade with a passion. Fortunately I found out not all teachers were like this one.
Today is EARTH DAY!
Until tomorrow....happy Friday Eve; as always Stay Safe.

               RAMPANT RUNNING

My mind whirls
 spinning ideas around my head
Like a jigsaw puzzle....pieces need to
  be connected
Concepts not coherent....jumbled
clutter of thoughts in my brain
Chaos running rampant....always
     happens on a rainy day....
      sunny day....or any day
    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

           SIX WORD POEM
Fog lifts and my day begins
💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
            FOG and LAKES
Fog lifts and my day begins
Out into the world I venture
A casual walk along Lake Jackson
Enjoying the mid-morning
I let my mind wander
Think of days at another lake
Walking in the early morning
After the fog lifted....looking over the
   lake
in my mind images of Harve
    appeared....the monster I am certain
     lives below the
  deep waters of Harveys Lake
Pondering if any strange creature
   inhabits Lake Jackson

             RAIN and RAINBOWS
Rain....rain....and more rain
Two days in a two
Driving through what seemed like a monsoon to do errands
As I sat in my car....the sun peeked
  through the gray clouds
rainbow appeared.... bringing hope
    of clear skies

WACKY HOLIDAYS APRIL 21st
(National Chocolates Covered Cashews
  Day; Administrative Professionals Day;
   Kindergarten Day and Banana Day)

          MISSED OPPORTUNITY
I never went to kindergarten....went
  right into first grade
It was scary never having been around
     so many other kids before
One thing I hated....the school cafeteria food especially banana pudding
A times I wonder if I missed
    anything at all by skipping
         kindergarten

             JUST a SECRETARY
Being an administrative professional a
  challenge
It use to be called secretary
A job that required a lot of work
 not taught in business school
Gifts on the day of recognition....
   chocolate covered cashews and
      cherries my favorite
   followed by gift cards
