NATIONAL POETRY MONTH .. ..Day 9

I wondered what to blog about today.  First it’s a Tuesday and this is not my favorite one of the month.  Well come June it will be over and I can enjoy that Tuesday again.
Last year I had hopes not to have my second Tuesday of the month scheduled but it DID NOT happen.  This year it will occur.  I’m am giving up my position as head of an organization’s local charter.  After three years, I’ve had enough of the being a workhorse; getting flak about something not done and being told I’m not doing the best job possible.  I am sick of this all and I felt enough is enough.  It triggered the piece I wrote in 2018.  Unfortunately I did not heed my words and took on this position another year.  Today’s piece is a year too late but this year it rings true.  Tonight I’ll be there secretly in my mind counting down the days till I hand over the gavel. Three years is long enough to hold the reigns; a new person needs to take charge.  One gets stale in the same job after awhile.
Until tomorrow.....if you’re a member or an organization think about those in charge.  Have they been there too long?

Second Tuesday of the month
   Promenade night for the
        veteran's organization which
            I am member
Need to get my act together......
     I run the meeting
An agenda do I type
     Opening ritual......
         Roll Call of officers....
            Last month's minutes to
               be read......
                  Financial report.....
Correspondence received and
         sent.....
    Reports from committee
         heads....
            Old Business.....
               New Business.....
                 Good of the order....
Closing ceremony.....

I count the days till I can pass the
        gavel.....
Let someone else take the reigns
   Please.....please....please
But then....what would I do the second Tuesday of the month?
   Work on my writing projects?
      Read? Watch television?
Perhaps get a new hobby?
  Perhaps all the above....
Or....go to the meetings to keep abreast on what's happening?
Time will tell....until then it's business as usual every second Tuesday of the month
