Sometimes things pop into my mind. I remember writing this when I was sitting at a coffee shop. I noticed a couple walk inside; they were holding hands and the man had a very nice smile. I enjoy at times people watching and thinking what’s behind their story; sometimes I make up my own story about them. I decided for this couple they were in a new relationship but the guy was a player. I don’t know why but it seemed fun thinking so. I did notice a woman sitting alone at one of the tables also watching them. It triggered a thought that I wrote down. I made up a story about her too that went with the couple. I came up with the story that the woman sitting alone was old girlfriend who still had feelings for the guy. This was a fun piece to compose. I put myself into the roll of the woman sitting alone and thought how would she feel? What is she thinking?
Sometimes an odd situation can bring around an idea.
Until tomorrow.....enjoy the day. It’s hump day. Seems Wednesday came around quick this week.

“FOR THE MOMENT”
©Scottie-ann Murphy
(2013 National Poetry Month)
Into the room he saunters
By his side the current lady in his life
The smile that melted my heart
(And still does)
He gives to her....
His dark blue eyes intently watch
her every move
As they once watched mine
His gentle caress....
Passionate kisses....
Strong arms that once held me close
in an embrace
His words of love.....telling me I was
his one and only
All belong to her at this moment
At least for this moment
