Last year Day thirteen of National Poetry Month was in a Friday. I thought about the day and decided it’s just another day.
Well this year the day falls on a Saturday.
Enjoy the piece I composed last year
“FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH”
© Scottie-ann Murphy
Black cats crossing your path
Don't walk under a ladder
Break a mirror....seven years
bad luck
Spill salt...toss some over your
left shoulder
Bad luck comes in threes
A rabbits foot is lucky
Pick up a penny from the ground
for luck
SUPERSTITIONS
We have heard time and again
Oh the poor rabbit their foot did
not bring luck to them....it's
on my key chain
Why seven years of bad luck for a
mirror? Why not two?
Will a white cat crossing your
path after a black one, reverse
the curse?
That penny you bring picked up is
lucky as you're a penny richer
Friday the thirteenth....
Some believe it's curse of bad
luck
Others just take things as it
occurs
Whatever happens.....will happen
It's just another date on the
calendar
Another day of the week
