NATIONAL POETRY MONTH....Day 6

I am not a college basketball fan but when March rolls around I’m crazy for March Madness.  It’s the most exciting time of college hoops in my opinion.  Over the years I’ve composed pieces about March Madness. Today is the Final Four.  I woke up at 3:30am.  Unfortunately I could not go back to sleep so I decided to work on my Day Six poem challenge.  I decided to write a piece about the Final Four.  I finished then knowing I would not be able to fall back to sleep, this due to having to be up and about early today to do volunteer work at a fundraiser, I decided to read my daily poems then do this blog.  I picked the
poems to read today; it was an Poe day and of course reading my own from my past challenges. I sort of chuckled when I saw that on Day Six in 2013 I wrote about the Final Four.  Again it seems history repeats as far as theme.  What would have made it more interesting would have been if any of the 2013 teams were in the Final Four in 2019.  Hopefully I’ll be home tonight to catch the first game.  Now time to post this blog and get myself ready for the day of volunteering.  I hope this fundraiser brings in lots of donations as it’s to benefit children.
Until tomorrow.....enjoy your Saturday.

Upon the courts today four teams
  will battle
With dribbles, passing, guarding,
shooting of two and three pointers
       SHOCKERS versus
CARDINALS.....
   ORANGE versus WOLVERINES
College hoops fans in sports bars,
   pubs and at home
Will watch with anticipation in
   hopes their team wins
Cheers, hurrays and shouts of joy
      for the victors
Tears, jeers and boos by those
    whose teams lost
Two will advance to the final championship
         game
While two will return home
   preparing for next season
Who will win?  Who will feel the heartbreak of defeat?
Only when the final buzzer buzzes
   will the outcome be known

     SPARTANS of Michigan State
Four remain to battle on the court
 Free throws
         Three pointers
                 Field goals
Air pass
    Bounce pass
 Jump shots....hook shots....alley oops
Offensive......Defensive.....
    Flagrant.....Personal.....fouls during the
           games
Fans watch with anticipation hoping their
     team can score from Downtown
The ball passed.....a few bounces....a player jumps....he shoots....two points on the
       board
A personal foul....a free throw....carefully the player concentrates....he throws....he
         misses
Hisses......boos from the fans
Four teams playing with pride for their

Only two will remain.....only one will be
