Last year National Poetry Month Day 9 fell on a Monday. This year Day 8 falls on a Monday. I’ve decided to post the 2018 poem as it’s about Monday even though it was a poem for Day 9 which was a Monday.
When I was still in the work force Monday’s were always a day I disliked. Trying to get into the routine of the work week. Wondering just what new problems will transpire or changes to how things were done. Now that I’m retired I still hate Mondays for some reason. Appears the stores are crowded and if I need to bank or go to post office it’s longer lines.
In 2018 I wrote about my tasks for the day. It’s one of those pieces that yes comes from my life. This year I woke up and thought about what it use to be like to get up every day to head to work. It was a repeat everyday so that was the theme for this year. On a brighter note I do have two things to look forward to on this Monday; the basketball championship game and dollar draft day.

of correspondence in the mail
box....nothing urgent

business
D. Stop at store.....needed

E. Water Station....fill water
jugs
F. Drug store.....toiletries
needed
G. Home....lunch time

One more item for the day.....

Monday....another Monday
First workday of the week
Weekend sped by so rapidly
Nothing to look look forward to on Monday
Another week begins.....same old grind
It’s work.......home.......
work.......home.......
It’s hump day...work......home......
work......home
TGIF.....work.....home.....
Saturday...Sunday...hours go quickly
As if running a forty-eight marathon from Saturday morning to Sunday evening
Monday morning again....another week
begins
Work.......home
Repeat.....repeat....repeat
And repeat
