Today’s acrostic pieces popped in my head; had to get them down. Yesterday I did not watch, read or listen to the news. I’m thinking of doing it again today. To say it depresses me at times is truth in itself.
I think every now and then we all need to unwind and unplug from the world around us. I feel the length of time you take to unwind is up to each person. Only they can determine the time length of needing downtime to refresh their inner being. My time is usually a day; I’ve been known to take two. The FALL acrostic was from a dream about apples, pumpkins and fall harvest items at a roadside stand. It’s so true that I’ve always thought fall was a reminder that gray days of winter lurks on the horizon. I’ve always love stopping at the roadside stands to get apples from a local orchard as well as apple cider. One thing I do miss is seeing the leaves change, but I pull up photos on the internet when I get nostalgic.
Until tomorrow....as always Stay Safe.

September 2nd....DAILY REFLECTIONS
I did not listen, watch or read the news
yesterday....wonder what I missed new....if
anything
Sure if I resume to the news today it’ll be
same old stuff....COVID-19, politics, riots
and protests
Perhaps I should another day from the
news....it only gets me more depressed

SEPTEMBER

Sometimes you just need to unplug from
the world
Everyone needs to step at times
breath deeply and chill out
Preferably for a day, if that’s possible, but a
few hours would suffice
The choice is up to each individual on
the length of time
Everyday it’s some other issue to get us
spinning in a circle, causing worry and
woe
Maybe a day without watching, reading or
listening to the news would soothe us
But we end up hearing others discuss the news if
we venture out
Each one of us must make our own
decisions if and how to unwind
Realizing the need to do so, is the first step

FALL (II)
© Scottie-ann Murphy
Fall approaches in a blaze of fun, frolic and
food
Abundance of pumpkins, apples and
squash at roadside stands
Last harvest for the farmers before winter
sets upon the earth
Little reminder of the months ahead of
bleak gray days till spring
