FALLING INTO SEPTEMBER....September 16th

It’s Hump Day!  I’ve changed the name to suit myself, Trash Bin day.  It’s garbage and recyclable pick up day.  My bin and I took our weekly stroll to the curb.  I reflected on this today.  What I can not understand is this; why do some of my neighbors put out their trash bins early on Tuesday?  It’s a pondering for me. I get up early enough to put mine out, so why can’t they? But this is my opinion.
This morning I actually saw as the sun started to come up as I looked out the window. Last few days it’s been overcast.  I’d think with it being overcast the temperatures would not feel humid but the ‘feels like temperature’ was higher then actually temperatures.  That’s part of living in the south I guess.
My acrostic centers on the fact October is fifteen days away.  With that in mind it’s the last quarter of 2020 and last three months of the year.  Let’s hope these last 92 days (October 1st to December 31st) are a lot better than what we’ve had all year.  It’s sure been a crazy year.  If this were an amusement park ride I be happy to get off and go onto a better one.
There are quite a few interesting wacky/weird holidays today, but one not so weird/wacky. It is American Legion Day.  I just found out about this yesterday when I was searching today’s wacky/weird holidays. It was this day in 1919 Congress granted the federal charter to the organization.  As a member of the Legion since 1976; I was a charter member (veteran) of a new legion post. I have seen many of the good works done by the organization in my years of holding membership.  I am proud to be a member of the organization and member of my current post in Florida (Post 69).  They say it takes a village to raise a child; I feel it takes a good group of dedicated individuals to keep an American Post going.  It’s not just the veteran members of the organization but the auxiliary, the Sons of the Legion and if they have a charter also the Legion Riders.  So today I say Happy American Legion Day to all who are members in one capacity or another.
Until next time....as always enjoy your day and Stay Safe.

Funny how this month seemed to go by so
    quickly

As soon as we know it, October will be
   upon us

Last quarter of the year, wonder what’ll it
      bring

Let’s hope the last three months go better
      than the first nine
