Its Hump Day! That means on Wednesday I usually lunch at my American Legion Post. Today I’ll be lunching there, having my usually, a bacon cheeseburger with extra pickles on the side. I’m predictable it seems.
Well yesterday was the first day of fall and I’m beginning my fall traditions. Yesterday I purchased my yearly bag of candy corn which I’ll open around the fifteenth of October and have my fifteen pieces. Hopefully I’ll be able to make my yearly candy corn snack mix for a give away at the club.
I’m still figuring out my Halloween outfit. Years ago I purchased an orange blazer and have worn it last few years. I wore it with a black skirt and black shirt one year; black shirt and black shirt another year; last year with black Halloween shirt and orange shorts. Not sure what I’ll do this year with the blazer if anything. Over the years I’ve found doing costumes from what you have in your closet easiest. I’m not one to spend a fortune on something you wear one day. I’ve visited websites that give ideas on using what you have for a costume or creating something inexpensive. I do enjoy dressing up though.
Yesterday I could not believe the traffic that was on the roads. No idea where everyone was headed but I felt as if they are were going the same place as me. The Walgreens I shop at so packed. We found a parking spot only to have the person next to us over the lines into two spots. Some people like their half of the road and more.
I wrote my acrostic about missing the fall. It sort of came to me as I looked out at the palm trees this morning. A slight breeze has their fronds swaying. Of course it was my choice to move south; I should remember that.

September 23rd....DAILY REFLECTIONS
I’m wondering where all the traffic is coming from....it seemed so crowded on the road yesterday....are the Snowbirds returning
At Walgreens I thought they were giving away something free yesterday....parking lot packed....one handicapped spot left....car next to us almost taking up 2 spots
No errands today....or so far that is....it’s Wednesday....lunch at the Legion day....Sammy Bacon Cheeseburger and extra pickles....yum

As I look out my window I see palm fronds
sway in the breeze
Use to be years ago I’d see oak and elms
with vivid colors
Then it was my choice to move south where
it’s always green
Unhappy I see no colorful leaves in the fall
season
My saddened mood will disappear when I
hear of snow storms up north
Naturally winter I do not miss, only autumn
