Hello all! It’s finally Friday. For those who work it’s TGIF. How I remember well that day. For us retirees it’s another day. Those who work all week will be hitting the stores and perhaps pubs and bars.
It’s Friday and the day we don our red to Remember Everyone Deployed; Support our Troops.
Yesterday I enjoyed the unplugging of myself from news. I plan to this this once a week. Of course now today I see what I missed and it gets me in a not happy mood.
In fact I read my ton or so it seemed of comments on stuff I shared on Facebook and looks like time to weed out my friends list.
My acrostic pieces about fall come from different thoughts. The first being a walk in the woods on a clear October day. The trees so colorful that the couple take photos. I’ve been there just walking in the woods in the fall looking at the beauty of the trees. There were times I was unaware of chipmunks, squirrels and birds around me. As for the piece on the falling leaves, it came to mind as I recall having to rake leaves. That was one chore I hated to do as a child. Seemed like the raking be done and ten more leaves fell in the meantime. A never ending battle I use to think; although the leaves made a nice carpet in the ground. Well the colorful leaves looked good till they turned brown.
I hope everyone enjoys their Friday.
Until next time....wear your RED today and as always Stay Safe.

September 25th....DAILY REFLECTIONS Friday....that means the wearing of the RED....red shirt....REMEMBER EVERYONE DEPLOYED
Yesterday I did unplug from the news....only read funny posts on social media
I think I’ll do this once a week....it feels good....not reading or watching news one day a week....everyone should do it....no feeling of stress or being overwhelmed with what’s going on in the world

WOODS STROLL
© Scottie-ann Murphy
After summer’s heat, we welcome cool
autumn days
Under clear blue October skies we walk
through the woods
Taking a casual stroll, enjoying the canopy
of the colorful trees
Unaware of everything else around us
taking photos of the autumn colors
Many shades of fiery red, vibrant orange,
golden yellow and rich brown
Now and again woodland creatures scurry
past us, as we enjoy an October afternoon

FALL CHORES
© Scottie-ann Murphy
From the oak and elms trees the leaves fall
upon the ground
And a lovely carpet of colors cover the once
green lawn
Lemony yellow, brilliant orange and fiery red
hues make a lovely carpet in the yard
Like it or not they must be eventually raked,
not a fun fall chore
