Yesterday the word was GEORGIC which could be a noun or adjective. As a noun it is a poem or book dealing with agriculture or rural topics; as adjective it is rustic or pastoral.
I used the word in a rural setting. It’s centered around a couple walking through a meadow for a picnic. The sights of the beauty of nature I tried to capture from the sky to their surroundings.
I did try to find more about GEORGIC but to no avail.
In fact I’m not even sure if I used the word correct as an adjective to do the piece I did. Oh well I did try hard. I used the word as describing the setting.
As for doing the verse about a picnic in a meadow, it popped in my head as I read the adjective meaning of GEORGIC.
I think I have said enough on this topic.
After I finished this verse, I took a few moments to scroll through my Facebook newsfeed. It seems the woman yelling at the cat memes are in the past and the Bernie ones everywhere. So it came to my mind after I re-read my poem that I’d picture Bernie sitting in the meadow as the lovers enjoyed a picnic.
It’s Sunday and many of you who watch football will be glued to the TV’s today to see who’ll go to the Super Bowl. As for me I’ll read or play games on my devices.
Until tomorrow....enjoy the day and as always Stay Safe.

SATURDAY PICNIC
Walking through the meadow
Wild flowers blooming here and there
The sun shines bright through
marshmallowy clouds in an azure sky
You carry a cold food hamper
I, the wicker picnic basket
and old patchwork quilt
Slowly strolling on the lush green field
No reason to hurry....no agenda to keep
searching for the perfect spot to rest
A cluster of trees ahead off to our left
An canopy to shade us....we stop
place the comforter on the ground
Our picnic underway as the basket opened
cold drinks taken from the hamper
Alone with nature the two of us
listening to the bird song
watching butterflies flutter by
admiring the beauty of the pasture
Sipping wine we chat,
make plans for the future
A splendid Saturday enjoying the
countryside
and the wonders of Mother Nature
Such a GEORGIC setting
