WEEK TWO of THE NEW YEAR....Day 14

I never knew what they called that nauseous feeling one gets inside their stomach when nervous.  I only know I’ve had the COLLYWOBBLES on occasion.  It generally struck when I’d have to get up in front of people to speak.  Even taking public speaking classes in college did not help for years.  But, after speaking in front of groups, I seemed to become more confident; I did not feel sick in my stomach before getting up in front of people.
Many people suffer from nerves before getting up in front of a group to speak.  There are many remedies people try.  My favorite is to picture the crowd all dressed in their underwear.  Recently on a TV movie I heard to picture the group wearing clown suits.  All in all it seems to relax some people.
I never heard the word COLLYWOBBLES until I received it as the odd word for January 13th.  If I saw it without definition attached, I’d think it would be a muddle feeling in the head; like head full of cobwebs.
I wrote a simple four line piece about a guy getting an attack of the collywobbles as he started to propose.  It was simply; enough said. I wrote the first piece as being a truth about me.  It definitely was at one time. Now I have no problem to stand and read in front of groups or speak to a crowd.
Think about yourself.  Do you have an issue with the nerves in the stomach at times?  I know stress situations can also cause this to occur.  How do you overcome it?
Today is Friday Eve!
Until tomorrow....happy Thursday and as always Stay Safe!

              HAPPENS EVERY TIME

Speaking in public did make be nervous
Giving me an uneasy feeling
Anticipation of people staring at me
There was no rhyme or reason
Once I stood and look out at the crowd
Felt like my mind would waffle
My stomach would begin to rumble
Having an attack of the COLLYWOBBLES

                     NERVOUS TUMMY

As he got down on bended knee
He got a nauseous feeling
How could he propose to her
Knowing he was getting the collywobbles
