I am absolutely enjoying this month’s writing challenge. Yesterday’s odd word was; PETTIFOGGER. Yes another word I never heard before. This one was fun to play around with as I decided to use it comically. I thought at first doing a serious piece about politics and politicians but wanted to do a more light hearted piece. The first one popped into my head as I thought about that old TV show I watched years ago “The People’s Court”; then I saw something something I had that was handmade for me by person who did ceramics. I decided upon a person hiring an individual to make a vase.
The second piece I did focuses on divorce lawyers. This came about from a book I read where the couple were having issues with the divorce. I decided the wife had a bad lawyer who she ended up firing and hiring a new. Both are comical indeed. I used a lot of other words termed to describe lawyers in both verses.
So after my rant about people not reading things, it happened again today. I had to explain another bit of information to people who did not read something in it’s entirety. Now the word FIFTY CENTS OFF is just that; fifty cents. That would be fifty pennies or twenty nickels or ten dimes or two quarters or any amount of change equaling fifty cents. It’s not FIFTY PERCENT OFF. Both my husband and I laughed so hard about this individual who did not know the difference. So far I’m finding this the year of the nincompoop in my book.
Hope you all have a great Hump Day. Many of us are anticipating receiving our stimulus check; which now I read some went into wrong bank accounts. That’s a lot of codswallop as if people got the first check with no issues why are there issues with the second?

DAY IN COURT
I got myself a real pettifogger
When I tried to sue the potter
I hired to create a specific vase
He said the lawsuit would be easy
As the ceramic maker was very sleazy
So I signed him on to take my case
But this mouthpiece that I hired
From a law firm he had been fired
He was definitely no legal-meister
And so the litigation I did loose
Because the pettifogger I did choose
Was a scammer, cheat and shyster

THE LAST LAUGH
Scammer, cheater, non legal-meister
Ambulance chaser, trickster, shyster
Was how she described her lawyer
He did not care if she won her case
either way he’d get his twenty pounds of
flesh.....sloppy work ethic he did have
All he cared about....the almighty dollar
So she kicked that pettifogger to the curb
Retained a divorce attorney that she
heard....was an expert in his craft
And in the end on her ex-husband
she got the last laugh
