WEEK THREE of JANUARY....Day 19

Short Read Today!

I’ve never heard HOLUS-BOLUS before, but I’ve probably done it.  Accepted a story all together or told with out modifications.  It was a challenge word for sure. Both pieces dealt with accepting stories from people.
That’s about all I can say on this word.
I used two odd words in the first piece.  I thought appropriate.
As I’ve been reading the other night I saw the word skedaddle used again but this time by a different author.  I wonder if some authors throw odd words just to see if anyone will research them.
This is a short read today.
Hope you enjoy the day as it’s National Popcorn Day.
Until tomorrow....as always Stay Safe.

                     YATTER YATTER

He sounded so convincing on what he had
      to say
I was uncertain if to believe it....but I did
      anyway
Intently I did listen as he keep up the chatter
He yammered on and on with the constant
     yatter
It was getting really hard for me try and stay
    focused
As he told the tale about his great golf
       round holus-bolus

                     SHE BELIEVED

She listened as he sweetly explained
why again he was so late
It seemed lately he never showed up on
    time for their dates
Time after time she’d sit in the restaurant or
     bar waiting....waiting....waiting
Her friends considered him a slime
ball...could not understand why she stayed
        with him
But she gave him the benefit of the doubt
always....he was stuck at work or tied up
      in traffic
He was so sorry....it wouldn’t happen again
She could not see the truth that he was an
    inconsiderate jerk
Holus-bolus she believed all the
lies....convincing her he was a good guy
