It seems when I go out to eat especially at places I frequent most, I seem to know exactly what I plan to order ahead of time. Of course one particular place depends if it’s a Thursday or Friday when they make chowder and serve it in a bread bowl. Another place depends also if it’s a Friday for their petite sirloin and grilled shrimp (surf and turf day). I don’t usually stray from what I order. Guess you can say I’m a creature of habit. The same goes for when I order pizza; always mushrooms and pepperoni or mushrooms and bell pepper. Breakfast at my favorite haunt is the cheese omelette and crispy bacon with home fries and rye toast. I’m a creature of habit, I say again.
So it was interesting doing the first piece on yesterday’s word about a person having options looking at the dinner menu. The second piece focuses around a person out for their birthday and going off the calorie count for a day.
The word for Monday, January 11th was COLLOP. I read the definition provided by the word challenge person, but I always like to research if there are other meanings listed out there. Odd that I did find another meaning which was interesting. It stated that COLLOP (Irish: cológ) is a measure of land to graze one cow. I decided to stick with the definition given by the person providing the challenge words that COLLOP is a slice or piece preferably meat. My internet research brought up recipes for many dishes. None that I’d be having at any time soon.
I’m enjoying reading how the others in the challenge are doing with the words. Every person has a different style of phasing things. It is what makes a daily writing challenge fun and interesting.
Until tomorrow....enjoy your day. Time for a collop of bacon and as always Stay Safe.

UNDECIDED
Can not make up my mind what to order
Of course I could have a collop of steak
Little collops of lobster....to be surf and turf
Loaded baked potato with sour cream
Or an order of loaded tater tots
Possibilities endless as I look at the menu

CALORIE COUNT
Sour cream on my baked potato just a
dollop
As I enjoy it with my steak and lobster
collops
And the veggies that are grilled to
perfection
Give me a salad first and garlic bread
A glass of wine, not white but red
Then for dessert a cross selection
of tasty pies and cakes
It’s my birthday so I’ll celebrate
Counting calories today, I take a break
And begin my diet again tomorrow
